Mesquite flour comes from the pods of the Algarroba tree which grows wild in large forest areas in the coastal regions of northern Peru. It imparts a warm, sweet, slightly smoky taste to foods, and enhances the flavors of cinnamon, chocolate, caramel and coffee.
